Water in Denmark

Copenhagen's tap water is hard. HOFOR measures it at 18 to 30 °dH.

Mineral residue

Calcium and magnesium leave a mineral residue on hair and skin, and scale on nozzles and glass. The result is buildup and dryness.

Sediment and dissolved metals

Sediment, pipe particles, odour and selected dissolved metals reach the shower with the water. Sol's cartridge is designed to reduce them. We publish only what laboratory testing shows.

Water and heating cost

Every litre of warm shower water has 2 costs: the water itself and the energy used to heat it. A standard shower head keeps no count of either. Sol measures litres and temperature on the device; the app estimates the energy and the cost.

Sol filters the water. It does not soften it. For limescale itself, Rensed Shield is the in-line anti-scale module that helps inhibit limescale formation and reduce hard-water deposits. Add it later.

How Sol works

How Sol measures a shower.

Sol measures water use, temperature and duration automatically. The session is stored inside Sol even when your phone is elsewhere, then synchronises with the Rensed app over Bluetooth when the paired phone reconnects.

The Rensed app turns Sol's measurements into a clear history of how much water you use, what you save and when the filter needs replacing.

One session, as the app will show it. Every figure on the card except the saving is measured on Sol. The saving is calculated against your household's defined baseline.

Water savings

Measured water savings, credited as Drops.

Rensed is building a system that turns verified water savings into Drops. Sol provides the physical measurement. The Rensed platform validates the session, calculates the saving and records the result.

    Each session's litres and temperature, measured on Sol itself and stored locally until your phone reconnects.

    Each session is checked against a conservative baseline: calibration, plausibility, no double counting. Only verified savings count.

    Earn

    Verified savings earn Drops on Rensed's own ledger, credit that can go toward membership and filters. Conversion rates are not final.

Drops are a closed reward, not a cryptocurrency: not transferable, not traded, not redeemable for a fixed cash amount, with no guaranteed value, and credited only after a verified saving. Drops come with Sol Membership and Sol Annual Care. Programme terms are finalised at launch. Figures shown are illustrative.

Sol filter cartridge

The filter cartridge

A replaceable filter cartridge sits inside the handle. Sol counts the litres that pass through it, so the app can tell you when to replace it. Performance figures are published when laboratory testing supports them.

Intelligence module

The electronics module

All of Sol's electronics live in one dry module: sensors, long-life battery, Bluetooth radio and memory. It is sealed away from the water path and designed to be swapped as a single serviceable unit.

  • Designed to hold days or weeks of showers locally, then sync over Bluetooth
  • When the battery reaches end of life, or the electronics are revised, the module is replaced and the shower body stays
